Dell 9020 SFF PC Inspiration Cab – Calibrating an ELO Touch Screen

Before attempting, please ensure that you have a USB Keyboard and USB Mouse present.

  • Open the top door where the PC is seated and insert the USB Keyboard and Mouse into the available USB slots - located on the front of the Dell 9020 PC 
  • Pull the door switch out so the machine thinks the door is closed and lower the top door, so you can use the touch screen
  • Power on the machine
  • Allow the machine to boot up fully into game with all doors shut
  • Press Ctrl, Alt and Delete on your USB Keyboard
  • The following list will now appear on your screen
    1. Lock this Computer
    2. Switch User
    3. Log Off
    4. Change Password
    5. Start Task Manager
  • Press Alt and T on your keyboard
  • Task Manager will now open and from the list on the Processes page, using the USB Keyboard and Mouse (if you press the CTRL key you will see where it thinks the curser is located) scroll up and down the list, hi light KaneBT.Taskbar.exe*32 then move your mouse to End Process and click on the End Process tab
  • A page will not appear asking if you want end KaneBT.Taskbar.exe*32 press End Process to confirm (Enter on the keyboard)
  • Repeat the same process again by using the keyboard and mouse but now hi light kidkeylock.exe*32 and then select End Process 
  • A page will not appear asking if you want end kidkeylock.exe*32 press End Process to confirm (Enter on the keyboard)
  • The keyboard now will become fully functional after stopping these 2 applications
  • Finally, you need to select Typhoon.exe*32 by using the keyboard and mouse then select End Process
  • A page will not appear asking if you want end Typhoon.exe*32 press End Process to confirm (Enter on the keyboard)
  • Next you will need to close the Task Manager page, this is done press pressing the Alt and F4  keys on your keyboard
  • This will now leave the Storm splash screens on both top and bottom monitors
  • Press Ctrl and Esc on your keyboard the following should appear on your screen (this may take several attempts)
    1. All Programs
    2. Computer
    3. Control Panel
    4. Restart
  • You need to select Control Panel, this is done by pressing the Tab key on your keyboard until you get to Computer and then using your arrow keys to go down to Control Panel
  • Once Control Panel is hi lighted press Enter on your keyboard to confirm
  • The Control Panel page will now appear on your bottom monitor
  • Using your arrow keys on your keyboard navigate to the Elo Touch Screen tile 
  • Once the Elo Touch Screen tile has a black dotted line around it press Enter on the keyboard
  • This will now take you into the Elo Touch Screen Properties page
  • Once on this page, you will see that you will be on the General tab and lower down on this page will be a tile saying Align, this will already be hi lighted a pale blue colour
  • Now press the Enter key on your keyboard, this will bring up the blue screen with the touch targets on the bottom monitor
  • Press the targets on the bottom monitor and then press the green tick to confirm.
  • The target screens will now disappear leaving you back in the Elo Touch Screen Properties page
  • Press the Red X located in the top right-hand corner of the page
  • This will close the Properties page
  • Now press the Red X in the top right-hand corner of the Control Panel page, this will now also close
  • This will now leave the Storm splash screens on both top and bottom monitors
  • Press Ctrl and Esc on your keyboard the following should appear on your screen
    1. All Programs
    2. Computer
    3. Control Panel
    4. Restart
  • You need to select Restart, this is done by pressing the Tab key on your keyboard until you get to Restart, press Enter on your keyboard to confirm
  • The PC will now start to shut down and restart
  • Now remove the USB Keyboard
