This is how to disable disc caching on the QXi 6000 PC


Disabling Disc Caching

Before attempting, please ensure that the touch screen is working accurately, and you have a USB Keyboard present.

  • Open the top door and insert the USB Keyboard into one of the available USB slots - located on the Quixant Qxi 6000 PC 
  • Close the top door
  • Power on the machine
  • Allow the machine to boot up fully into game with all doors shut
  • Press Ctrl and Esc on your USB Keyboard
  • To the bottom left hand side of the screen, you will see the following options; -
    1. All Programs
    2. Computer
    3. Control Panel in the bottom left hand side of the screen
  • Select Control Panel
  • Once in Control Panel select Device Manager using your touch screen
  • Press Enter key on your keyboard to confirm the selection
  • You are now in Device Manager
  • From the list use the ‘arrow down’ key on the keyboard to navigate to Disk Drives
  • Once on Disk Drive use the ‘arrow right’ key to open the Disk Drive
  • Next press the arrow down key to navigate to the Kingston Drive  
  • Press the Enter key on your keyboard to confirm this selection
  • This will bring up the ‘Kingston Disc Device Properties’ page
  • Select the Policies Tab
  • Select the ‘Quick Removal’ option *Please note, you will see a blue ‘dot’ appear next to this option and the tick will no longer be visible for Disc Cache*
  • Select ‘OK’ on the touch screen to confirm the setting change you have made
  • When prompted, select ‘Yes’ to confirm that you want to change the setting
  • The machine will now reboot
  • Open the top door and remove your USB keyboard 
  • Close top door
